Second Defendant Pleads Guilty in Tattoo Shop Murder Case
MEMPHIS, TN – Shelby County District Attorney Bill Gibbons announced Friday that a second defendant has pleaded guilty in connection with the 2007 murder of a Memphis tattoo artist.

Princeton Price, 20, pleaded guilty on Friday to facilitation to commit first degree murder and especially aggravated robbery. A criminal court judge sentenced Price to 20 years in prison without parole. This case was set for trial on March 2.

According to the affidavit of complaint filed in this case, on July 21, 2007, Chianne Gast was shot and killed inside Top Shelf Tattoos at 6415 Summer Avenue. The victim’s husband, Michael Gast, was beaten and robbed during the incident.

Co-defendant Jeremy Young, 21, pleaded guilty earlier this month to first degree murder and was sentenced to life in prison without parole. Trial dates have not been set for three additional co-defendants, Talandus McCoy, Jamal Williams, and Rashanda Clark.

Assistant District Attorneys Reginald Henderson and Dean DeCandia are prosecuting this case, which was assigned to the D.A.’s Gang and Narcotics Prosecution Unit.
