No Prosecution of Tennessee Highway Patrol Supervisor

MEMPHIS, TN – Shelby County District Attorney Bill Gibbons announced Monday that his office will not prosecute a Tennessee Highway Patrol supervisor assigned to the Memphis district for official misconduct or any other offense. District Attorney Gibbons made the decision to not file criminal charges against Sergeant Timothy Holloway after reviewing the results of an investigation conducted by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.

Last January, Gibbons requested the TBI look into allegations of inappropriate relations with inmates at the THP’s Memphis station. The TBI turned over the results the investigation to the Shelby County D.A.’s Office in March.

The decision does not address the issue of whether Sergeant Holloway violated any THP policies or procedures that would warrant administrative action.
