The child’s mother notified police on January 5th, 2011, after learning that the eleven year-old was pregnant.  Memphis Police Department Child Sex Abuse investigators arrested Coleman on January 7th, 2011, after their investigation revealed that Coleman had raped the child while she visited his daughter at his apartment in Whitehaven.
In his guilty plea, Coleman agreed to mandatory twenty-five (25) year sentence for the rape of the child.
Assistant District Attorney Terre Fratesi of the Shelby County District Attorney’s Special Victim Prosecution Unit handled the case.
Coleman entered the guilty plea before Honorable Judge Lee Coffee.
