Nuisance Database

Welcome to the District Attorney General’s nuisance database.  As a way to combat crime and give the citizens of Shelby County relief from criminal activity in their neighborhoods, District Attorney General Bill Gibbons uses the state public nuisance law to attack properties that are being used for illegal purposes.  Since 2002, more than 100 properties and businesses have been closed as public nuisances.  This database contains information on all the properties against which the District Attorney has filed a nuisance action.

Also on this page is a link that allows the search of individual properties and access to court documents related to each nuisance action.  Certain fields are color coded to show what agency is responsible for a particular task.  Green indicates that Memphis City Services is responsible, Blue indicates MPD is responsible, Orange indicates that Code Enforcement is responsible, and Yellow indicates that the Health Department or the District Attorney is responsible.
