Man Pleads Guilty to Robbery

MEMPHIS – March 11, 2016 - A 20-year-old man pled guilty this week to robbing another man at gunpoint in 2013, taking his cellphone, car keys and $175 in cash, said Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich.
Criminal Court Judge James Lammey accepted the plea of defendant LeMarco Beam and the six-year prison sentence recommended by attorneys on both sides.
The robbery occurred on Dec. 8, 2013, in the 2400 block of Ruby Oaks Drive in South Memphis. The victim told police he had planned to meet Beam at the location when the defendant robbed him.
A second man who attacked and beat the victim was never caught.
The case was handled by Asst. Dist. Atty. Gavin Smith.
