Man Convicted in Parkway Village Shooting Death

MEMPHIS – October 27, 2016 - A Criminal Court jury has convicted a 22-year-old man of first-degree murder in the 2013 shooting death of a Parkway Village man, Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich said Thursday.
Defendant Coynick Boswell was automatically sentenced to life in prison by Judge James Beasley Jr.
A jury convicted Boswell of killing Kadrian Woods, 23, who died of gunshot wounds on Aug. 25, 2013, in the 3200 block of Danville Circle just south of Knight Arnold Road in Parkway Village.
The shooting occurred during an argument in which Boswell accused Woods of giving him counterfeit money earlier to pay for drugs, witnesses said.
The case was handled by Asst. Dist. Atty. Colin Campbell of the DA’s Multi-Agency Gang Prosecution Unit that handles homicide cases and other violent crimes associated with gang activity.
