Man Convicted of Second-Degree Murder in Basketball Game Shooting

MEMPHIS – November 18, 2016 - A 22-year-old man was convicted Thursday of second-degree murder stemming from the shooting death of an opponent in a basketball game in July of last year, said Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich.
Defendant Ronald Jones remains in custody and will be sentenced next month by Criminal Court Judge James Lammey Jr.
Vicdarrius Pollard, 18, died of multiple gunshot wounds on July 24 last year at the LA Fitness Center near Winchester Road and Bill Morris Parkway in southeast Memphis.
