Gang-Involved Shooting Death Brings Indictment

MEMPHIS – A 20-year-old man was indicted Thursday on first-degree murder charges stemming from the shooting death last April of a rival gang member on the grounds of Frayser Elementary School, said Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich.
Defendant Antonio Marshall is being held in the Shelby County Jail without bond.
    He is charged with killing Kerr-Dulea Neil, 17, who was shot in the arm, chest and thigh shortly before 7 p.m. on April 22 last year at 1602 Dellwood Ave. in Frayser.
    Neil was taken to a hospital in critical condition where he later died.
    Another juvenile was charged with tampering with evidence for removing a gun Neil had and hiding it from investigators.
    The case is being handled by Asst. Dist. Atty. Neal Oldham, chief prosecutor of the newly formed Community Prosecution Unit assigned to the Memphis Police Department Old Allen Precinct where the crime occurred.
