Joshua Fisher, who is being held without bond, was arrested about two months later in Stanton, Tenn., 50 miles northeast of Memphis in Haywood County.
Victim Bria Isaac, 28, and Fisher had had a troubled, off-and-on relationship for 10 years. On Oct. 15 last year, family members found her body arched across the bathtub of her apartment in the 1600 block of Monroe Avenue near North Belvedere Boulevard.
She died of gunshot wounds to the head and chest.
The case is being handled by Asst. Dist. Atty. Marianne Bell of the DA’s Domestic Violence Prosecution Unit (DVPU) which prosecutes felony cases of domestic assault and homicide committed by intimate partners. The unit works closely with the Shelby County Family Safety Center to provide services and assistance to victims and their families.
