Woman Indicted in Stabbing Death of Husband

April 12, 2018 – A 51-year-old woman was indicted on felony charges Thursday in connection with the stabbing death of her husband last year in their Southwest Memphis home, said Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich.
A grand jury indicted Barbara Hogan Oliver on charges of voluntary manslaughter and aggravated assault resulting in death. She is free on $25,000 bond.
According to investigators, Keith Oliver, 50, was stabbed in the chest by his wife during an argument the night of June 3, 2017, in their home in the 500 block of King Road near Roosevelt Park. He was hospitalized in critical condition and died 27 days later.
The case is being handled by Asst. Dist. Atty. Omar Malik of the DA’s Domestic Violence Prosecution Unit which prosecutes felony cases of domestic assault and homicide committed by intimate partners.
The Unit also works closely with the Shelby County Family Safety Center to provide services and assistance to victims and their families.
