Man Convicted Again in Craigslist Murder

Henderson Henderson
Aug. 17, 2018 – A 22-year-old man was convicted Thursday of first-degree murder in the 2014 shooting death of a man who had advertised his car for sale on Craigslist, said Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich.
Martiness Henderson is one of three men convicted of first-degree murder in the death of Larry Wilkins Jr. who was killed as he showed the men his car they had come to inspect in response to an online ad.
The incident occurred the night of March 9, 2014, outside the victim’s residence in an apartment complex at Sycamore View Road and Raleigh LaGrange Road. Wilkins died of multiple gunshot wounds.
Martiness was automatically sentenced to life in prison. His first conviction was overturned earlier this year by the Court of Criminal Appeals which ruled that he was denied proper jury selection.
Two codefendants – Brandon Vance and Walter Collins – also are serving life sentences for their convictions.
The trial was handled by Asst. Dist. Attys. Pam Stark and Sam Winnig.
