Convicted Shooter Sentenced in Killing

Oct.16, 2018 – A 23-year-old man convicted in the shooting death last year of an acquaintance has been sentenced to the maximum 25 years in prison without parole, Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich said Tuesday.
Defendant Kejuan King was sentenced Monday by Criminal Court Judge James Lammey Jr. A jury convicted King of second-degree murder following a trial in August.
Investigators said victim Adarrell Anderson, 23, was killed by multiple gunshots on Jan. 13, 2017, outside a convenience store in the 4600 block of Horn Lake Road near Shelby Drive.
They said King and Anderson knew one another and had an ongoing dispute. King was arrested five days later.
The case was handled by Asst. Dist. Attys. Stephanie Johnson and Jamie Kidd.
