Defendant Sentenced in Fatal Beating of Homeless Man

August 11, 2011 - Kenneth Lewis was sentenced today to 35 years for the March 7th, 2007 beating death of James Moseley.
Lewis, who was 31 years old at the time of the incident, brutally attacked Mosley over the theft of a bicycle that Lewis believed Mosley had stolen. Following the beating, Mosley, a homeless, U.S. military veteran, remained hospitalized and on life support until he died on Nov. 17, 2008, at age 48.
Kenneth Lewis was subsequently tried on second degree murder charges. The jury returned the guilty verdict on Thursday July 14th, 2011, after only thirty minutes of deliberation.
Assistant District Attorney Michael McCusker prosecuted the case in Criminal Court Division 3.
