Man Indicted in Robbery, Murder of Germantown Man

July , 2019 – A 22-year-old Cordova man was indicted Tuesday in the robbery and murder of man who was found shot to death in December after disappearing a week earlier following a work out at an East Memphis fitness center, said Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich.
A grand jury indicted Alfonzo Amos on charges of first-degree murder in the perpetration of a robbery and especially aggravated robbery. He is being held without bond.
The victim, Shaun Hamblen, 23, was last seen the afternoon of Nov. 29, 2018, leaving a fitness center at Poplar and Perkins. His body was found Dec. 6 in a house in the 3600 block of McDuff Avenue near Robin Hood Lane.
Amos was developed as a suspect and gave police a statement admitting his involvement in the robbery and murder of Hamblen.
The case is being handled by Theresa McCusker, chief prosecutor of Vertical Team 1 which handles all cases from General Sessions Division 7 and Criminal Court Division 1.
