Sept. 13, 2019 – A 26-year-old man was indicted Thursday in the shooting death last year of his sister’s boyfriend at Whitehaven residence following a longstanding dispute, said Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich.
A grand jury indicted defendant Roy Webster Jr. was indicted on charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder and employment of a firearm in the commission of a dangerous felony.
He is being held without bond in the Shelby County Jail.
Investigators said the incident occurred on Oct. 29, 2018, in the 1600 block of Colebrook Ave. when Webster kicked in a bedroom door and shot Christopher Kinchelow multiple times. The defendant’s sister, 33, was in the room, but was not injured.
Kinchelow, 44, was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead. Webster was taken into custody the following day.
