Molester of Children Sentenced to 110 Years

Oct. 17, 2019 – A Memphis man with a history of sexually abusing children was sentenced by a judge to 110 years in prison Wednesday, said Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich.
Jimmie Liddell, 53, was convicted in August on four counts of aggravated sexual batter, one count of attempted aggravated sexual battery, and one count of solicitation of a minor: to wit aggravated sexual battery.
He was sentenced by Criminal Court Judge Lee Coffee who called Liddell’s behavior with children “unconscionable.”
Liddell, a previously convicted sex offender, was convicted this summer of sexually molesting four boys and two girls between ages 4 and 9 in April of 2016 inside his Whitehaven apartment while the parents of the children were tending a barbecue grill outside.
The case was handled by Asst. Dist. Attys. Dru Carpenter and Alyssa Hennig of the DA’s Special Victims Unit which prosecutes cases of child sexual abuse and severe physical abuse of child victims; rape and aggravated rape of adult victims, and abuse of elderly and vulnerable adults.
