Drug Dealer Convicted for Selling Cocaine, Faces up to 20 Years in Prison

Shelby County District Attorney Amy P. Weirich announced Friday that a jury found a previously convicted felon guilty on felony drug charges.
Curtis, Blackmon, 38, was convicted as indicted on two counts of sale of a controlled substance (cocaine) and two counts of unlawful possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) with intent to sell. Blackmon faces up to a 20 year sentence. He is scheduled to be sentenced on February 25.
According to testimony in court, Blackmon was sold cocaine to an undercover officer on November 18 and 19, 2009. The sale took place in a known crack house located at 823 Ayers in north Memphis. The indictment was the result of a Memphis Police Department Blue Crush investigation.
Assistant District Attorneys Jose Leon and Kate Edmands prosecuted this case in Criminal Court Division 9.
