Marcus Moore Pleads Guilty to Burglary

MEMPHIS, TN – Tuesday, July 30, 2013 – Marcus Moore (age 29) pled guilty as charged to two (2) counts of burglary of a building.
Moore, a career criminal, pled guilty to burglarizing two (2) businesses in the Binghampton and Northeast communities of Memphis in March 2011.
On March 9, 2011 Moore broke into a side window at 2924 Walnut Grove. He stole several cases of soft drinks. The business’ video surveillance cameras recorded Moore during the burglary. On March 15, 2011, Moore broke into a front window at 2847 Poplar. Moore stole three (3) bottles of liquor. Video surveillance captured Moore as he entered the business.
Marcus Moore will be sentenced on August 29, 2013.
Burglary of a building is a class “D” felony with a sentence range between two (2) to twelve (12) years. Marcus Moore has prior felony convictions and will be exposed to enhanced sentencing on both counts.
Assistant District Attorney Katie Ratton handled the plea.
Judge Lee Coffee presided.
