Nico Farmer was automatically sentenced to life in prison after the Criminal Court jury convicted him of killing Antonio Pierce, 35, who was walking near Hunter and Springdale after an evening at Hey Baby’s nightclub.
After being shot once Pierce ran from his assailant, but Farmer continued firing as he ran after Pierce. The victim was shot seven times and collapsed near the Cypress Gardens apartments.
The shooting occurred around 3:30 a.m. on Oct. 6, 2011.
Farmer also was convicted of attempted aggravated assault on another victim at the scene and will be sentenced on that case later by Judge Chris Craft.
During the holdup, Farmer also shot his partner and codefendant Terry Johnson, 18, in the leg.
Johnson recovered, but was shot and killed Nov. 14, 2012, at a Frayser apartment. Darryl Claxton, 22, is charged in that killing and is in custody awaiting trial.
