Myra Goodrum, 57, pleaded guilty as charged to theft over $60,000.
Criminal Court Judge Mark Ward heard the plea and sentenced Goodrum to eight years in prison, seven of which were suspended.
She will be required to serve 365 days in prison on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
As part of her plea, Goodrum must make restitution of $134,641 at a rate of at least $100 a month. If there is a balance at the end of her eight-year sentence it can be converted to a civil judgment.
Goodrum was an employee of the Northgate Animal Hospital where between May 22, 2004, and Nov. 7, 2011, she altered the daily deposit slips and skimmed cash for her personal use, an investigation showed.
The case was handled by Byron Winsett, chief prosecutor for the DA’s Public Corruption and Economic Crimes Unit.
