Man Indicted On Vehicular Homicide-Alcohol Charges

MEMPHIS – Nov. 5, 2014 - A motorist has been indicted on charges of vehicular homicide involving intoxication and recklessness stemming from an early-morning crash last year in Whitehaven, Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich said Wednesday.
Justin Click, 29, who also has a previous DUI case pending, is being held on $1 million bond.
Angela McGhee, 42, of Memphis, was killed in the three-car crash that occurred around 3:30 a.m. on June 15, 2013, at Elvis Presley Blvd. and Raines Road.
Click was charged after his vehicle crashed into the rear of McGhee’s vehicle which was stopped at a red light. She was helping her mother deliver newspapers for The Commercial Appeal.
Click told investigators he had had several alcoholic drinks earlier and that he fell asleep at the wheel.
The case is being handled by the DA’s DUI Prosecution Task Force.
The DUI Prosecution Unit prosecutes all DUI and vehicular homicide cases in each of the ten (10) Criminal Courts. The unit seeks to reduce the number of DUI related fatalities and injuries in Memphis and Shelby County.
