Man Pleads Guilty in Fondling Case

MEMPHIS – Apr. 21, 2015 - A 41-year-old man has pleaded guilty to fondling the young son of a friend in 2012 and has been sentenced to eight years in prison with no parole, Shelby County Dist. Atty. Amy Weirich said Tuesday.
Albert Willingham pleaded guilty to aggravated sexual battery in the incident that occurred on Aug. 18, 2012, at an apartment in the 3500 block of Eastline Drive in the Frayser area.
Judge Jim Lammey presided over the guilty plea.
Willingham admitted fondling a 10-year-old boy who had been asleep on a couch.
The case was prosecuted by Asst. Dist. Atty. Cavett Ostner of the DA’s Special Victims Unit which prosecutes cases of child sexual abuse and severe physical abuse of child victims; rape and aggravated rape of adult victims, and abuse of elderly and vulnerable adults.
SVU reviews child-victim cases cooperatively with Shelby County’s multi-agency Child Protection Investigative Team.
