Man Indicted on Six Counts of Aggravated Burglary

MEMPHIS – November 2, 2015 - A man with a long history of arrests has been indicted on six counts of aggravated burglary stemming from residential break-ins in Midtown and South Memphis, said Shelby County Dist. Atty. Gen. Amy Weirich.
Kourtney Walton, 27, of the 1300 block of Melrose Cove, is being held in the Shelby County Jail on $350,000 bond.
The indictments outline residential burglaries and thefts of property that occurred between April 6 and May 25 this year in areas of Midtown, Cooper-Young and South Memphis.
The break-ins resulted in thefts of televisions, jewelry, clothing computers and electronics. The value of the items totals some $40,000.
Walton was arrested June 9 at Elvis Presley and Timothy in Whitehaven.
He was out on bond on a pending domestic assault case.
The burglary cases are being handled by Asst. Dist. Atty. Stacy McEndree of the DA’s Special Prosecution Unit that seeks the maximum sentence allowed by law for repeat offenders.
