On April 7th, District Attorney Amy Weirich announced Demario L. Rawlings was found guilty in criminal court of driving under the influence (DUI) and reckless driving charges .

On April 7th, 2011, a Shelby County jury found ANTOINE V. PERRIER, age 28, guilty in the February 2010 shooting of an eight year old girl.
On Saturday, February 13, 2010, Antoine Perrier was at a convenience store located at 1204 Winchester in Whitehaven when he became involved in an argument with another male inside. The argument continued outside of the store where Perrier pointed a handgun at the male and began firing several shots. Bullets from the gun entered the store where a woman and her eight year old daughter where standing. The young girl suffered three separate gunshot wounds and was rushed to LeBonheur Children's Hospital in critical condition. Information in the trial indicated that several other persons had to seek cover from the errant gunfire.
A warrant was issued for Perrier's arrest on February 14th, and Perrier was subsequently arrested by officers during a traffic stop on June 26th, 2010. Perrier was found guilty of one count of criminal attempt of voluntary manslaughter, three counts of aggravated assault and one count of employment of a firearm with intent to commit a dangerous felony, along with other misdemeanor charges.
Perrier is due to be sentenced in court on May 13th, 2011. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Betsy Wiseman.
