The Shelby County District Attorney General’s Office Data Dashboard provides a public snapshot of key prosecution performance indicators, including office caseloads, how long cases take to resolve, indictment trends, witness cooperation, and the most common types of cases received by the office.
The dashboard is updated monthly, allowing the public to track these measures over time, compare changes from month to month, and better understand trends in the Office’s workload and case outcomes. Its purpose is to provide greater transparency into how cases move through the criminal justice process and how the Office’s work changes over time.
To assist in analyzing the data, we’ve completed this guide.
Tracking a criminal case from inception to resolution is more challenging than meets the eye. The Sankey diagram (or “river plot”) shown below illustrates the various ways a case can be resolved after it is received by the District Attorney General. Following the chart from left to right, you can trace specific subgroups of cases from June 2026 based on their disposition and sentencing. As shown, some cases result in convictions but do not involve post-sentencing jail time; others receive diversion, which does not result in a conviction but is still considered by our office to be a successful public safety intervention.
